Infrastructure for community health workers

We are studying the operational infrastructure gaps in Kenya's community health worker network. A product is in early research.

The problem

Kenya's community health worker (CHW) network — over 100,000 volunteers — is the last mile of the public health system. CHWs visit households, collect health data, and refer patients upward. But their data is collected on paper, compiled manually, and often never reaches the Ministry of Health. The information that could power predictive health interventions is lost at the point of collection.

Our approach

We are conducting field research across several counties to understand the data infrastructure gaps in the CHW system. A product is in early research. We expect to publish findings before committing to a build.
