Flux is a small, focused lab. We do not scale headcount — we scale depth. One person, one sector, one institutional context at a time.

I studied computer science at Haverford College. Then I came back to Nairobi to build the software I wish Africa's institutions already had.
I founded AccessWASH in 2019 after spending months inside Kenyan water utilities and realising the problem was not governance — it was tools. Since then the work has expanded to civic infrastructure (BungeConnect), open finance (PesaRails), and the research practice that underpins all of it.
Flux is built on the premise that the missing layer is not funding, not political will, and not capability. It is operational software translated specifically for African institutional contexts. That translation work is what I do.
We commission selectively.
We take on research and build commissions from institutions whose work aligns with our sector focus. If you are working on institutional infrastructure in Africa, reach out.
